Explodinary Rebombed

Explodinary Rebombed is a complete reimagining of my BombSquad modpack, designed to transform a chaotic party game into a polished, highly replayable experience with strong game-feel and personality.

As the lead developer, I rebuilt the project from the ground up with a clear goal: keep the fast, goofy energy of the original while introducing more depth, clarity, and consistency across systems. The focus is on making every moment feel responsive, readable, and fun - whether you’re playing casually with friends or pushing the mechanics further.

The project introduces several core systems:
Fighting Styles (Universal, Brutal, Manic) that subtly change how grabs and attacks behave, giving players different playstyles without overcomplicating the game
Trinkets and Bomb Patterns, which enhance visual feedback and player expression without affecting gameplay balance
Map Gimmicks that add variety and dynamic interactions to matches
A dedicated shop system to support progression and customization

I was responsible for designing and implementing gameplay systems, scripting mechanics, creating maps, handling UI, and iterating on overall game feel. The development process is heavily iteration-driven - testing ideas quickly, refining based on feedback, and focusing on what makes the game more satisfying to play.

Explodinary Rebombed reflects my approach to game design: strong core mechanics, systemic design, clear player feedback, and systems that are easy to understand but rewarding to master.
